Join the line at Bear Central with ‘BearQ’

UNC Bear Central will be providing students with an easier way to join the line for student services without physically waiting in line. Starting May 20, UNC students will be able to enter a virtual queue for financial aid, registrar and student account services from anywhere by using BearQ. This system allows students to check-in remotely via mobile app, our online kiosk or by coming in person. Plus, students will receive text notifications of their estimated wait times and when they’re next in line.

How to Apply for Aid

Notes on 2024-25 FAFSA

The University of Northern Colorado is closely monitoring changes coming to the FAFSA process for the 2024-25 school year. Below is some helpful information:

The 2024–25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form is now available periodically as part of a soft launch by the Federal Gov't.. During the soft launch, the FAFSA form will be available for short periods of time while they monitor site performance and form functionality.

You can complete the form to apply for financial aid to help pay for attendance at college between July 1, 2024, and June 30, 2025. You will have plenty of time to complete the FAFSA form. If you do submit your form during the soft launch, your information will be saved, and you won’t need to resubmit your form or any related information. If your form is unavailable when you or your family members try to access it, please try again later.

Notes on Federal Student Loan Debt Relief and the End of Repayment Pause:

The University of Northern Colorado is closely monitoring the Biden-Harris Administration’s Student Loan Debt Relief Plan. Links below  is what we know so far.  For the latest information, please see: White House Information on Debt Relief.

Following a multi-year pause on repayments, student loan interest resumed accrual beginning September 1, 2023 and payments begin starting in October 2023.

See UNC loan page for  several resources to assist borrowers with repayment of their federal student loans.
